The main theme song was released on 30 th March 2018 by WaterTower Music. The main score of the film was initially scheduled to be composed by John Williams however, due to some issues, it was decided that Alan Silvestri would take over this responsibility. The film, altogether, is a combination of the original work from The Shining and ILM’s additional work. Spielberg would meet with the ILM animators for almost three hours three times a week. For this reason, Spielberg worked with the animation company known as Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) to oversee the effects portrayed in the film. Due to its nature and the year the film was set in, virtual effects had a big part to play in the film. According to director Steven Spielberg, Ready Player One was the most difficult movie he had to direct ever since directing Saving Private Ryan.
